Nevskiy Prospekt, located in the center of St. Petersburg. The equivalent of the Champs Elysees, it is the premiere avenue for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The avenue is 4.5km long, spanning from Admiralty to Alexander Nevsky Monastery, and is 60 meters wide in some places. Along this drive, or stroll, as your preference may be, you will find every possible form of architecture, from baroque to modern. Various sects of people, ranging from Beggar to Nouveau Riche, and Gypsy to War Veteran. All are here. The life of this dynamic boulevard goes on until the wee hours of the morning, and you will no doubt spend considerable time along this famous street that was originally used for direct deployment of military forces to the perimeter of the city.
